At ECS, information technology, digitalization, and advanced automation are key elements. To keep all systems, networks, and infrastructure in top shape, we are looking for a hands-on System Engineer with the right attitude.

As a System Engineer, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure and systems. We are looking for someone who is not only technically skilled but also takes initiative and is constantly seeking ways to improve processes. You deliver high-quality service by completing tasks correctly and on time and support your colleagues by providing information and standard solutions.

You will work in a team of six and report to the System Architect. Additionally, you will work closely with the service desk team and support them when needed.

Job Content

  • Change Management and Project Execution: Analyze and communicate the impact of changes. Implement changes for IT infrastructure, software, and hardware solutions. Ensure documentation and keep the CMDB up-to-date.
  • Incident Management: Restore services according to the agreements in the SLA.
  • Operational Management: Process tickets from automatic monitoring and keep an overview to address recurring issues. Execute service requests timely and with quality, and contribute to the automation of operational tasks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Work on efficiency and quality improvement.
  • Support Colleagues: Provide standard changes and solutions, communicate upcoming changes, and provide sufficient information and training.
  • Process Control: Oversee the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of solving various calls. Provide process management information.
  • Service Desk Support: Assist at the service desk when there is insufficient staffing.
  • 24/7 Standby Arrangement: When on call, you are available 24/7 to resolve (imminent) disruptions to the information system, reported by the automatic monitoring system or users.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and diagnose software, server, and PC problems. Approach problems analytically to find the right solution.

Profile

  • A general or bachelor's degree supplemented with ICT experience or ICT training, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar ICT role.
  • Knowledge of system architecture and implementing architecture in systems and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge and use of scripting languages such as PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of common end-user products from Microsoft such as Windows Client, Office 365 suite, Outlook & Exchange.
  • Knowledge and use of Windows Server (DNS, Active Directory, DHCP, IIS, DFS).
  • Thorough knowledge and management of networks and their concepts (TCP/IP – OSI model) and the configuration of routers & switches (Cisco IOS syntax).
  • Knowledge of desktop & server virtualization technologies (Citrix, VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud & Hybrid setup.
  • Thorough understanding of cybersecurity, its dangers, and necessary measures.
  • Knowledge of Dutch/English/French.
